This is another medieval pea with blue-gray leaves, bi-color flowers, and delicate rampant vines. While the peas can be cooked in soups and stews, this is a fall pea best used as a source of greens and pea shoots. The vines are quite cold tolerant and with a little protection they will yield salad greens and stir-fries all winter. However, the plants are subject to powdery mildew in excessively wet or humid weather, which is why they are best planted in the fall right before frost. Our seed originated in Swabia in Baden-Württemberg, where this pea has been grown by Black Forest farmers since the 1500s.
~25 seeds per packet.
