Black Bird’s Beak Pepper Capsicum annuum
This striking hot pepper often grown as an ornamental came into our collection from African American folk painter Horace Pippin. Pippin acquired it from local French gardener Francois Supiot, who imported it from France in the 1880s. 3-to-4 ft plants with black stems and leaves. Small beak-shaped pods ripening from black to brown to red. Minimum 25 seeds. Germination 94%. LOTRW23-CAP014.
