Buist’s Yellow Cayenne
Capsicum annuum
This spicy hot bright yellow pepper was acquired from Black folk artist Horace Pippin
during the 1930s by Collection founder H. Ralph Weaver. The 4-to-5-inch pods have a
distinctive hook on the end. Plants form a 2 ½ to 3 foot tall bush. While the pepper takes its name from Philadelphia seedsman Robert Buist, the pepper was also sold by Peter Henderson of New York during the 1870s. 25 seeds $4.00
