De Barao Black Tomato
Solanum lycopersicum
This flavorful plum-type tomato for sauces or salads was developed in Russia from red De Barao (breeding parent) by the Agrofirm “Gissok.” With brown flesh and skin, the tomato ripens reddish brown on the blossom end and greenish brown on the stem end. This variety was introduced into the United States in 1997 by Glenn Drowns of Calamus, Iowa. Our offering is the original strain as opposed to many odd variations now sold online. Indeterminate. Minimum 25 seeds. Germination 97%. Packed for 2024. LOTRW2023-TOM206.
