This rare bean was coveted by period chefs for its delicate green pods. It is also known as Red Valentine or Stockbridge Indian among the Munsees of Wisconsin. The variety was introduced commercially from England by Peter Henderson of New York about 1890. It is genetically related to the Iroquois Soup Bean and may in fact be its commercial ancestor. 25 seeds. Germination 95%. Packed for 2024.
