Holms Syrian Watermelon
Citrullus lanatus
Discovered at Holms, Syria in the 1940s, this rare medieval style watermelon weighs from 6 to 10 pounds depending on the fertility of the soil. Fruits are oblong featuring dark green skin frosted with a misty blush. The flesh is dark rose-pink with a rich flavor hinting of rosewater. The thick rind is ideal for pickling and preserves. Minimum 20 seeds.
