Lilac Butter Bean
Phaseolus vulgaris
While this eye-catching pole bean came to us from a private German collection under the name Liliascheke, it was developed in the Czech Republic and featured in the most recent edition of Heirloom Vegetable Gardening by Dr. William Woys Weaver. Harvested as a snap bean while the pods are still flat and yellow. Yellow-podded beans are commonly called butter beans in most of Europe.   Minimum 25 seeds. Germination 95%.
